First steps in improv

two shoes

A short introduction to improv for absolute beginners.

Immerse yourself in the world of improvisation with a mixture of games, scenes and and lively discussions over three Friday nights.

This course encourages spontaneity and will help you to sharpen your listening and collaboration skills.

You’ll get to tap into your creative side for a greater sense of freedom and playfulness that helps to build confidence in everyday life.

You don’t need any experience of improv or acting to take part. It’s all about making your own entertainment and being in the moment.

Improv is highly addictive. You have been warned!

Why take an improv class?

Improv isn’t just about making people laugh, it’s also a powerful tool for personal growth and self-expression.

This short course will take you on a journey of discovery – helping you to let go of perfectionism and worrying so you can spend more time laughing, connecting, co-operating and creating.

It’s not stand up so you won’t be on your own, or under any pressure to perform or make jokes. Improv about listening, collaboration and supporting ‘mistakes’ in ways that make everyone look good.

Who is it for?

We aim to provide an environment that feels fun, friendly, safe and supportive for everyone.

Our style of improv is playful, hopeful, joyful and mindful and brings together the best of improv comedy or unscripted theatre.

There is no performance at the end of the classes, it’s just for the lucky people in the room!

Content includes

– Listening and being present

– Making your partner look good
